Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: synergy

I have been using a simple wireless Logitech 3-button scrollwheel mouse. No side buttons. :-) Middle-clicking will, randomly, kill the client with an error similar to below:

X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)
Major opcode of failed request: 141 (XTEST)
Minor opcode of failed request: 2 (X_XTestFakeInput)
  Value in failed request: 0x6
Serial number of failed request: 3322
Current serial number in output stream: 3324

For me, the only thing that changes is the serial numbers. The value
stays the same, indicating the middle button. And it is completely
random. Today it was fine for 3 hours, then it happened. I restarted,
and it happened in less than 4 middle-clicks. I restarted again, and it
happened after maybe 10 minutes of middle-clicking all over the place.
(I use it for c/p and opening new tabs in Firefox a lot)

I run the Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic version of Synergy 1.3.1-6ubuntu1 on both
client and server. I never had a problem while running Ubuntu 9.04
Jaunty (1.3.1-5ubuntu2). So maybe a diff of those two sources will
provide help.

As a note, the Synergy+ package has the same error.
http://code.google.com/p/synergy-plus/issues/detail?id=184 Someone
created a patch that can trigger the error reliably, albeit for a
different mouse button.

** Affects: synergy (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
