Same bug on my system:

sda --> Win XP (and MBR) (NTFS)
sdb --> data & backup partition (NTFS)
sdc --> Karmic 64 with /boot (ext4)

45-50 seconds of spotless disk trashing at boot, then Karmic starts.
Karmic itself should even be really fast to boot but the Grub2 useless
waiting time defeats any benefit Karmic can bring.

Any news on bugfixing state?
