[Bug 485949] [NEW] TeX/LaTeX/pdfLaTeX binaries not working over CIFS/SAMBA shares

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: texlive-latex-base

When trying to execute latex on the file  located in a CIFS share the
following error message appears:

"! I can't find file `file.tex'"

where file.tex is obviously present. See also the following post:
