[Bug 487734] [NEW] When VirtualBox OSE preferences selected during guest set-up, host system logs off

 I was in the middle of installing a new guest OS (Windows XP Pro) and
at the same time I had an already installed Ubuntu 9.10 guest shutting
down, while waiting for each to finish doing what it was doing I choose
File > Preferences and my system, not VirtualBox or a guest but my own
system, I was immediately thrown out of Gnome to a non X window screen
with text indicating "sessions were open" (or to that effect) and then
logged off. All very rapidly, I'd say all this occurred in less than
five seconds.

 At that point I was back at the GDM and could select my account and log
on normally.

1) 64-bit Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic 2.6.31-14-generic, updated regularly
2) VirtualBox About shows: GUI version 3.0.8_OSEr53138
2) VirtualBox in Synaptic shows: virtualbox-ose 3.0.8-dfsg-1ubuntu1
3) When selecting File>Preferences in VirtualBoxOSE I expected to see a list of preferences
4) I was immediately logged off and sent to the log on screen, the GDM, where I could log on like nothing happened
