Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: vlc
-> Ubuntu 9.10
-> VLC 1.0.2 (1.0.2-1ubuntu2)
(This has been happening since before the 1.0 release)
Currently, VLC is being run via the following command:
vlc stream.pls --random --quiet --intf ncurses --sout '#transcode{acodec=vorb,ab=96,channels=2}:duplicate{dst=std{access=http,mux=ogg, dst=:8080}}' --sout-keep 2> /dev/null
This streams all files listed in the playlist (stream.pls) in a random
order. However, any FLAC file will not stream properly. The files all
play correctly when played locally, but when streamed, the audio is
corrupted. The stream is being played back by VLC on a different
computer (Running the same version). The stream is fine except when FLAC
files come up. The other files types used that work are MP3s and
OGG/Vorbis files.
The messages window in VLC shows no errors.
On the receiving side, the messages window shows a lot of (eg):
main warning: PTS is out of range (-36876), dropping buffer
And occasionally:
main debug: audio output is starving (42291), playing silence
