Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: grub2
Very new to Ubuntu problems. I had 9.04 installed and running and
have just installed 9.10 from live CD. Accepted defaults during
installation. Whilst running "Mines" or some other game, got told
there were a pile of updates so updated and installed them. About 100
MB? download, included FireFox 3.5 and help shows FireFox is 3.5.5.
Installation ended up asking for restart bur on restarting it fails to
find some dev and ends up with a DOS directory initramfs and says type
help. I don't understand it and typing in exit does not get me out.
ctrl/alt£&del gets me restarted. Tried starting second choice, a
recovery choice, but that ends up with the same fault.
Restarted and selected the third choice, finishes with 14 rather than
15?, and everything works normally and I found this crash report in the
top RH corner.
Using Raid 5 with three H/D on an AMD64 quad cpu
