Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gscan2pdf
This only affects Karmic - I rebooted to Jaunty and it worked
flawlessly.
The scan - either one page or multiple - stops before displaying the
preview. It started several days ago, but at that time repeated attempts
succeeded, but no more.
XSane image scanning program is functional.
