I spoke too fast, and acted too fast...

When I said:

I forgot that I forgot to test in the *official* firefox-3.5 browser,
and instead tested with my *non-official* swiftweasel-3.5 browser
(although it uses the same xulrunner-1.9.1 that firefox-3.5 uses, by
symlinking), and obviously I need some extra manual step for
swiftweasel...

So, it IS in fact *possible* to switch flashplayer, in the officially supported firefox builds, simply via the following command:
`update-alternatives --config xulrunner-addons-flashplugin`

(or for those who are more graphically oriented, one can simply install
- then run - 'galternatives')

So I guess there's no bug.. removing my nomination for karmic, and
closing bug. Please yell if you still feel that something needs to be
fixed..
