[Bug 442782] [NEW] VMware-Player-2.5.3-185404.x86_64 does not complete installation

Binary package hint: vmware-player

When I try to install VMware-Player-2.5.3-185404.x86_6 (or any other 2.5
release) on Karmic, I end up with the installer hanging indefinitely on
the 'Configuring VMWare' screen.

System details:

Linux squires 2.6.31-11-generic #38-Ubuntu SMP Fri Oct 2 11:06:40 UTC
2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Full update has just been run

Using VMware-Player-2.5.3-185404.x86_64.bundle, recently downloaded from
vmware.com
