[Bug 444405] [NEW] regression in boot

Public bug reported:

I read everywhere that Karmic is supposed to boot quicker than Jaunty,
but for me it boots almost 4 times slower. Jaunty booted in 25 seconds,
Karmic takes 1 minute 34 seconds!
