I wonder if this is the same issue as bug #436698.
The backtrace is pretty useless, so, if you can collect any extra info that would be beneficial. Perhaps valgrind (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Valgrind) can help since it seems to be related to a memory corruption problem.
