[Bug 449936] [NEW] Virtual Machine Won't Start - Kernel driver not installed

This is happening in Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala Beta (64-bit installation)
with version 3.0.6-dfsg-1ubuntu1 of VirtualBox

When Attempting to start a Virtual machine, instead of starting, the
following message window appears:

O     VirtualBox - Error     [X]
Failed to open a session for the virtual machine XXXXX.
Virtual machine 'XXXXX' hasterminated unexpectedly during startup.
Details:
Result Code: NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005)

[_OK_]

Furthermore, the above message window is immediately followed by another
message window, without having clicked at the first message window.
That following message window's contents are as follows:

O     VirtualBox - Error In suplibOsInit     [X]
Kernel driver not installed (rc=-1908)
Please install the virtualbox-ose-source package.
[_Abort_]

Contrary to the text of the second message window, this is occurs with virtualbox-ose-source already installed!
I have found that if I reinstall the package virtualbox-ose-source, then I can run the virtual machine, but this is a work-around, not a fix because it has to be performed every time I restart my computer.
