The symlink points to the wrong directory:

kurt at pckurt:/usr/share/java$ ls -l luc*
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 328444 2007-10-28 06:30 lucene-1.4.3.jar
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root     19 2009-10-14 15:46 lucene.jar -> ../lucene-1.4.3.jar

Workaround:

cd /usr/share/java
rm lucene.jar
ln -s lucene-1.4.3.jar lucene.jar
