Rebooting again without appending nohz=on to the grub line has brought
the poor performance back. Definitely the change to dynamic ticks being
off by default seems to make a huge difference for realtime audio on my
thinkpad. Funny that a few releases ago (was it Hardy?) it was
completely the opposite for a while.
