[Bug 452565] [NEW] mp3 not playing banshee karmic

Binary package hint: banshee

Since I've upgraded to Karmic Banshee has not been able to play mp3s
that are on my Desktop. This used to work in Jaunty.

I can play this file in VLC (not what I want to do though) and I can
play it used madplay (CLI tool for playing mpeg streams).

I've not added this file to my music library in Banshee but I never had
to in Jaunty. It would play straight from the Desktop. And yes I've
reinstalled Banshee, rebooted and done everything you'd normally imagine
me to do.

Steps to reproduce:

1) Have mp3 on Desktop
2) Select to play with Banshee
3) Wait till Banshee loads

Expected result:

Banshee starts playing the mp3 file

Actual result:

Banshee loads but does nothing. See attached screenshot. It loads the
file as if it is a dead link and the file is no longer there (e.g. when
music on my external hard drive is disconnected). The play icon stay at
idle.
