Now I get errors when trying to upgrade karmic.  If I try to resolve
them (or get better detail) by installing, I get:

$  sudo apt-get install libavcodec-extra-52 libavcodec-unstripped-52 libavutil-extra-49 libavutil-unstripped-49

Is that to be expected from this change?  I have:
