Ubuntu follows Debian for this package. At least, I haven't seen anybody
actually really involved in this package in Ubuntu. Debian hasn't
packaged the latest version, so you better request the package there
first. If you don't know how to do that I can help you with that. If you
do, please mention the debian bug-number in this bug-report.

After Debian has updated the package we could have a look at trying to
get a backport arranged (I have to figure out how that procedure works
exactly).
