Unfortunately, I'm experiencing similar bug with linux-rt 2.6.31-9: Root
FS is on plain LVM, booting fails with reporting

udevadm trigger is not permitted while udev is unconfigured
udevadm settle is not permitted while udev is uncofigured
svgalib: Cannot open /dev/mem

and finally

ALERT! /dev/mapper/gg-root does not exist.

Issue is not present with linux-generic-2.6.31-14.
