As well, Mixxx 1.7 seems to have a bug where changing the sound
preferences making Mixxx hang.

Manually change ~/.mixxx/mixxx.cfg section [Soundcard] to:

[Soundcard]
SoundApi JACK Audio Connection Kit
DeviceMaster 7, system
DeviceMasterLeft 7, system
DeviceMasterRight 7, system
ChannelMaster 0
ChannelHeadphones 2
DeviceHeadphones 7, system

Now finally it works over here in karmic with JACK...
