pop-up error message reports: 
 " W: GPG error: http://ppa.launchpad.net hardy Release: 
  The following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available: 
  NO_PUBKEY F7D0E1722382D57E 
 -- rest of update proceeds as normal.  This has occurred over last several days 
since beginning October.  (Thought at first that server was simply down; later 
wondered if it was related to release of v 9.10 in progress.)
