This bug affects me too. In my case all the files are seen as
application/octet-stream type.  Also if I associate a file to be by a
default programs all the other files (just because all files are seen as
"unknown octet stream") will be associated with that program. For
example if I associate a pdf to be opened with epdfviewer also .odt .avi
.mp3 etc will be open with epdfviewer.
