Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: vlc

lost is maybe not correct its grayed out so it's not possible to select.

This is hugely important as I use that all the time to change from spdif
and analog out stero2,4,5.1 ... and the rest.

Can't find any way to get that menu to work or get spdif output. noticed
this yesterday so it must be something that changed at least less than a
week ago. its probably pulse audio as always but since I notice the
problem in vlc I file it here and people who actually understands the
sound system has to figure out what is happening all I know is that I'm
pissed.
