Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gnome-shell
1) beowulf at stormrider:~$ lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 9.10
Release: 9.10
2) beowulf at stormrider:~$ apt-cache policy gnome-shell
gnome-shell:
Installiert: 2.28.0-0ubuntu2
Kandidat: 2.28.0-0ubuntu2
Versions-Tabelle:
*** 2.28.0-0ubuntu2 0
500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com karmic/universe Packages

3) I wanted to try out gnome-shell in widescreen mode with the switch
"-w" since I'm using a MSI-Wind U100.
4) Instead of starting correctly, I dropped back to normal desktop,
heres the output:
beowulf at stormrider:~$ gnome-shell --replace -w
