[Bug 460513] [NEW] [Karmic] Grub recovery mode crashes

When I try to boot in recovery mode, I get to the initial recovery
screen, but as soon as I touch the keyboard, errors appear on the screen
and I cannot do anything from there (see appended screenshot).
