[Bug 460683] [NEW] emacs23 does not apply gnome appearance properties for fonts

Binary package hint: emacs23

On karmic, emacs23 does not follow font settings as set in Gnome Appearance Properties. This is similar to:
- https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox-3.5/+bug/379761/ (firefox 3.5 on karmic)
- https://bugs.launchpad.net/fontconfig/+bug/190848 (gnome-terminal on hardy)

Fixes given in above bugs works for emacs23 (for example, editing
~/.fonts.conf).
