[Bug 460777] [NEW] Blender eats up CPU when idle

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: blender
Problem: When scrubbing around in the Sequencer (Alt+A), Blender starts
chewing up CPU and does not stop, even when I stop scrubbing. It
consumes an entire CPU (100%).
I have attempted to run blender with the '-d' debug flag, but it gives
no information. (BTW, what's the point of a debug option that gives
absolutely no detailed output?!?)

included.
