Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: fceu

Ubuntu 9.10 x64

gfceu:
  Installed: 0.6.1-0ubuntu1

In Ubuntu 9.04 I could use both GFCEU and ZSNES with no problems
whatsoever. After upgrading to 9.10, I can only get these two programs
to work with no sound. If I enable sound in GFCEU, it will simply grind
to a halt, utilizing 100% CPU and force quitting is the only option.
This bug report was made on the fceu process during such a freeze.

I have seen this problem on all three computers in my home, so I am
guessing something has radically changed about the soundsystem in ubuntu
9.10 compared to 9.04.
