[Bug 436418] [NEW] Installation from USB media fails on Acer Aspire One

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: live-initramfs

Installation from USB medium fails to boot: After displaying the white
Ubuntu logo for several minutes, drops to busybox (initramfs) prompt
with the error "Unable to find a medium containing a live file system."
The error "stdin: error 0" is repeated many times above.

Tested with Karmic Alpha 6 ISO and also daily ISO downloaded half an hour ago.
Tested with unetbootin-356 and the USB Startup Disk Creator in Jaunty.

Hardware: 
Acer Aspire One A150L (120GB hard drive version.)

dmesg attached.
