Hi,

So my testing so far has been the following:

I think there might be a bug with the interaction of new xen framebuffer
drivers and the older versions of Xen that Amazon runs.

I have added a kernel patch to my local ec2 tree which changes the
console from xvc0 to tty1. This will allow console messages to be
displayed on ec2 so that users can see the ssh keys, boot up messages,
etc. I will send the patch today to the kernel team mailing list for
approval to be included in the karmic kernel.
