[Bug 437889] [NEW] after start game is clicked, complete X lock up

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: crack-attack

When the game proper is started (after start game is clicked) X locks up
completely requiring magic sysrq to reboot. ctrl-alt-backspace and ctrl-
alt-F1 do not work.. Tested with various circumstances. with or without
compiz active. compiled from the source deb with enable-sound=no. still
the same crash. Such a severe lockup would seem to indicate a bug in the
intel driver, but that's just an uneducated guess.

Tried network and solo play with same result too.
