  GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT is set to zero and GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT_QUIET is
  enabled (default configuration). Pressing escape on startup does not the
  show boot menu. I hit the escape key multiple times in a second during
  the complete startup (from pressing the start button tlii xsplash) but
  without any success.
