happened to me yesterday too. lost a lot of precious files....so glad I
had a recent backup.

karmic locked up after switching user (perhaps faulty ati drivers)

but: zero byte files should not happen, as    auto_da_alloc   ist set as
default?

or am I wrong?

what are the right mount options to avoid such data loss? I am still
recovering some files...
