the screen dims to minimum when I
-boot
-close the lid
-start anysoftware using a graphic surface (mplayer , SDL)
its a brand newlaptop, first install : 2.6.28-17-generic , ubuntu
jaunty
also get this in log :
[199833.902898] [drm:gm45_get_vblank_counter] *ERROR* trying to get vblank count for disabled pipe 0
[199851.543041] [drm:gm45_get_vblank_counter] *ERROR* trying to get vblank count for disabled pipe 0
[199871.311860] mtrr: no MTRR for d0000000,10000000 found
[199873.798158] [drm:i915_setparam] *ERROR* unknown parameter 4

the xorg.conf is virtually empty
havent got a clue where to start... any idea of a quick fix?
any idea where it comes from ? (kernel? intel driver? Acpi?)
this bug makes the laptop near unusable
