Public bug reported:
Ubuntu-sugar-remix.Installation (ver 0103)
Allow selection of which Hard Disk to install to (ie: USB) to allow "real install" to USB.
Using liveusb-creator tool creates a live filesystem and a persistence file. This type of live usb is very fragile and vulnerable to corruption. The writes are delayed until shutdown and are very vulnerable to premature removal caused corruption (especially with our target users: impatent school students.)
A 'real install' to a usb is able to recover from a bad shutdown and does it's writing as it occurs.
The remix install should pause to allow selection of a USB target OR
install to USB should be a third option on boot.
** Affects: sugar-0.88 (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
