[Bug 505443] [NEW] grub2 parameters not set

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: startupmanager

When using grub2, the "Show boot splash", "Show text during boot" options do not work.
grub.cfg still contains "quiet" "splash" options after checking boxes being checked/unchecked.
Also there is no way to tell grub to use normal text console instead of graphics. 
Maybe this can be included under bootloader menu resolution.
