IMHO it would be better to upgrade the package in debian first, that way
it can be auto-synced.

I would suggest contacting Miriam Ruiz <little_miry at yahoo.es> who is the
maintainer of the package in debian.  Pykaraoke is maintained in debians
PAPT, at http://svn.debian.org/wsvn/python-
apps/packages/pykaraoke/#_packages_pykaraoke_

The PAPT team is very friendly, and it is quite easy to get you packages
sponsored.
