The correct package (which installs fine in karmic) is available on
repositories, but the deb source is invalid.

E.g. the Swedish mirror has: http://se.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/multiverse/s/sun-java6/ia32-sun-java6-bin_6-16-0ubuntu1.9.04_amd64.deb
See all files at: http://se.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/multiverse/s/sun-java6/ (there are multiple ia32-sun-java6-bin packages, but only the above linked one installs).
