seg error continues to be present in karmic

DISTRIB_CODENAME=karmic
DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 9.10"
squeeze/sid
2.6.31-14-generic

I also found package very hard to compile with runtime errors
   Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
   FcStringHash (s=0x7fff00000000 <Address 0x7fff00000000 out of bounds>) at fcpat.c:215
(from gdb)

finally had success by suppressing some libs
  
  ./configure --disable-imlib --disable-xft2
