To be fair, I have tried to help in the past and my ideas got pretty
well shot down when I was discussing them in #mythbuntu.  Nobody could
wrap their heads around my ideas that somebody's Myth box could be just
a myth box (i.e. an STB) and that all of the other desktop integration
(like window managers and gdm and autologin, etc.) was not needed on
such a platform and was a waste of resources to use them.

In fact, this appears to be a duplicate of bug 485277 which has more
info in it.  Summary: bad config.xml file.
