So, I don't know which of the developers claimed PulseAudio support?

So, ALSA, Jack and PortAudio are the available options, so no need to
fall back to jack exclusively, since the program works very well with
ALSA.

If you want PulseAudio support, please file a bug upstream here: https://savannah.nongnu.org/bugs/?func=additem&group=traverso 
since logically the devs of traverso can't track every existing bug tracker out there.
