Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: transcriber

Hi,

A while ago transcriber did not list libsnack2 as a dependency and now
thankfully that bug has been fixed. Since then, I've found that more up-
to-date applications depend on libsnack2-alsa, which conflicts with
libsnack2 and causes transcriber to be uninstalled.

Today I installed another application that depends on the alsa variety,
causing transcriber to be uninstalled, then I manually dpkg-installed
the transcriber .deb (resulting in an error because it said libsnack2
was required but the alsa version was installed). Transcriber now plays
well with alsa/pulseaudio programs without being run with "padsp"
(despite a persistent apt error of course).

It would be nice if all applications worked with pulseaudio and we
didn't have to rig our menus to launch things with padsp.

So I suggest replacing libsnack2 with libsnack2-alsa as a dependency,
for both these reasons--first, so all libsnack2 applications could
depend on the same library without conflict, and second, so it will work
out-of-the-box with alsa/pulseaudio.

Thanks!
