[Bug 502481] Re: Openbox start is unnecessarily delayed by karmic default splash screen

The workaround in comment #1 does _not_ work for me. I'm running Openbox
without a desktop environment in Ubuntu Karmic. Seeing similar behavior
to the bug description in that the OSN appears saying my (wireless)
connection has been established before the splash screen has stopped
running.
