Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: smplayer
smplayer will start to play a video file. It will play the file for
between 1 and 4 minutes, then the video will slow, and suddenly hang (ie
a still picture in the video box, no audio). smplayer can be killed from
the gui button, and the process repeated. The hang does not occur at
exactly the same time, and occurs in *all* my video files. gmplayer will
play these files without problem. I've given up using smplayer, and use
gmplayer instead.
To get gmplayer to work I had to add this line to .mplayer/config
vo=xv
Setting the video driver configuration inside gmplayers preferences
would not allow video to work. However once I did that gmplayer has been
solid.
I assume that smplayer does use this file for it;s mplayer
configuration ?
This is with ubuntu karmic (9.10), fully updated as of the weekend (17th
Jan 2010).
