Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: qtiplot

Since I upgraded to Karmic, I had been experiencing a problem related to
Bug 435476, qtiplot quitting unexpectedly when trying to open an old
project. After some consultation with those more knowledgeable (thanks
Scott Howard and Divius!), I managed to fix this problem by adding the
lucid repositories, and installing a newer version of qtiplot
(0.97.10+r1453) that did not depend on outdated libraries. Although it
opens old projects just fine, I'm having a new problem -- qtiplot quits
unexpectedly when trying to set column values on a table.

This bug can be reproduced simply by opening a new table, right-clicking
on a column, and selecting "Set Column Values...", or by selecting this
same option from the "Table" pull-down menu. If you try to use the
hotkey option "Alt-Q," the program does not quit, but acts as if you
hadn't pressed anything.

1) Running Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic)
2) QtiPlot version 0.9.7.10+r1453 (from the Lucid repositories)
3) I expected to be able to change the column values of a table
4) What happened instead was that qtiplot quit suddenly without any warning or error message. There was no message in the syslog file (in \var\log) indicating anything wrong, either.

** Affects: qtiplot (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
