Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: likewise-open5

Certain applications are reporting that they cannot find the user ID of
the currently logged in user using standard posix entities routines. I
suspect this may be caused by 32-bit applications running on 64-bit
Ubuntu and a 64-bit-only lsass installation.

I have found that installing nscd (name switch cache daemon) along with
likewise-open5 largely eliminates this problem. The only time I have
seen this error since installing nscd is when the ubuntu-bug tool
attempted to launch a web browser when running with sudo. nscd seems to
have fixed the problem for local applications being run as the currently
logged in user.

I attempted to install a 32-bit version of libnss_lsass.so.2 along with
the 64-bit but that did not appear to correct the problem. I may not
have done something I needed to do, though.
