[Bug 513448] [NEW] mplayer hangs on launch and taskbar icons scrambled

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: mplayer

Trying to play a RealAudio file... so I added medibuntu repositories and
was looking at several options then saw good old mplayer was available
too

SO I installed mplayer. Unfortunately it hangs on launch. It opens two
windows, one with some sort of dialog that doesn't redraw.

This machine is an Eee PC 900 running  9.10 NBR -- in case the Netbook
Remix stuff is the problem.

The scrambled mplayer icons in the taskbar "unscramble" when I switch to
the desktop and back.
