Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: cups-pdf
I use Open Office and SCIM input method to prepare large documents in Telugu language (India).
Even as OO offered direct export of such files to pdf, the method did not fare well with the (USLegal) paper size we adopt.
Consequently we prepare the pdfs using cups-pdf.
The pdfs made thus omit certain text character తీ (spelled like
'thee'). I attach sample pdfs- one, generated directly by OO and two,
generated by cups pdf to make myself clear. (I am sorry i can not attach
two documents at a time here.. so will post the second document
separately, following this.)
Very ordinary character of the language suddenly missing is, at times,
quite embarassing. Can someone help?
If it is useful, the font used is "lohit telugu"- May be there is a
problem in the way cups pdf understands this character in the specific
font ? There was also problem with another character లౌ (spelled
'la-u') earlier- In this document the character appeares alright,
though.
Thanks.
