[Bug 1009758] [NEW] requestsync crashed with SSLError in do_handshake(): [Errno 8] _ssl.c:504: EOF occurred in violation of protocol

Public bug reported:

This occurred when I was requesting a sync of libkml. I was having
connection issues at the time, so it's <s>possible</s> that this crash
was caused by an interrupted SSL handshake. However, it should ideally
catch this rather than crashing altogether.
