[Bug 216499] Re: xfce4-mixer is not started correctly from the settings menu

It seems to be that the "Mixer settings" in the menu is an entirely
different application than xfce4-mixer. The problem might just be that
xfce4-mixer can not be reached from the menu (though I believe it can be
opened using the Mixer panel plugin).
