The other day, I suggested to the debian team to drop the logo from the wallpaper. The reason is evident in your screenshot; the wide screen monitor badly distorts the logo making the visual appearance of the desktop undesirable.

This is my current home setup .... i consider this to be the traditional Xfce approach to the desktop environment.
